Francis C. Flaherty

A native of Boston, Francis “Frank” Flaherty joined MAJS as a partner in March 2026 after practicing for over 30 years with the Dyer Lawrence law firm. Frank has assisted and represented numerous unions and their members, including police and correctional officers, firefighters, teachers and education support employees, city and county employees, and nurses and other healthcare employees, in proceedings before arbitrators, hearing officers, Nevada’s Government Employee-Management Relations
Board (EMRB), state and federal district courts and the Nevada Supreme Court. Frank has presented numerous lectures and trainingsregarding the fiduciary duties of union boards, the role and rights of stewards and other union representatives, unfair labor practices,
the duty of fair representation and state and federal employment laws. Frank has been very active in community and Bar organizations. Frank was a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada and a Past President of the State Bar of Nevada. Frank was also a member of Nevada’s Board of Continuing Legal Education and he is a past Chair of that Board as well.
In his off hours, Frank enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, and other recreation and exercise.
